Adding a bit of elastic shouldn't be much of a problem, just a couple of stitches. In fact after uploading those pictures here I noticed that on the rear view you can see my heel where the cover has ridden up a bit.
In the mean time I'll put these pictures in and see what the judges say.

The judges did ask for the feet to be modified to tighten them around the boot. It was described as needing to look somerthing like a tall moccasin so ina ddition to the elastic I stitched under to hold against my boot I took some of the fabric tape I used for edging the hat and stitched a strip around the edge of the toe covers to form a 'side'. I'll upload a picture of how this came out when I get home from work.
This seems to have done the trick because I've received an e-mail informing me that the costume has now cleared. Although I'll be getting a rejection for the floppy toed version because I submitted the modified version as a new apllication. Oops.

Thanks. The judge commented on the speed of the modification as well but I was notified about what needed doing on Friday night and I had all the bits needed to hand so it just made sense to do the work early Saturday morning.

Great work Stephen, you put a lot of effort into this in a short space of time and the results are amazing, so well deserved!

They look a lot better. The extra layer makes a big difference.
Happiness is a warm A280. Or A300. Even a Glie-44 at a pinch.

All done now. I've received the formal clearance notice and my picture is on the rosta (In which the feet aren't even visible of course).
