Chris's additions to Jedi
So, because I have been enjoying the anonymity of Jyn, and now the unknown of a bright red wig for the other side, I feel its time to shake things up a little bit with my Jedi.
I love the comfort and fit, so to add something else to it, I'm looking to add lekku and ear cones etc, to change it a bit.
Pale lavender lekku and cones have been ordered, pictures will be posted when I download them.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Brown leather gloves that are unembellished have been ordered, matching the brown of my boots, belt and pouches, that way I shouldn't have to paint my hands and lower arms.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Gloves have arrived and fit perfectly. They are nice and long so when wearing them no skin will show even if I reach for something or lift my arms. Yay!

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Obviously I need to wait for the lekku to be delivered... However, I have been going through trying to find any information with regards to the standard. First question, is there anything actually formally written down? Or is it generally implied?
If implied, I believe that the following would be required:
* Lekku.
* Ear cones.
* Headwrap.
* Body paint for any bare skin, in the same colour as lekku and ear cones.
* Long gloves to avoid any bare skin, or rather so that I don't have to paint my hands.
Question, do I continue here, or move this over the Wretched Hive/Aliens section?
In regards to the gloves, they are a colour match to my boots, belt and pouches. I have gone with gloves because my hands are prone to eczema and therefore these will give me the ability to hide this, when I have a flair-up. This is the problem with my generic jedi at present.
Once I have the lekku and feel happy with them I will work on making the headwrap. I am planning to make this out of pleather, the same colour brown as my gloves etc.
I also need to purchase the make up in the correct colour(s) and practice applying this and any necessary shading etc. This could be either a big mistake or great fun....

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
I don't believe anything is written down about generic twi'leks, unfortunately. But that list sounds about right.
And yes, as your Jedi costume itself isn't changing, it's probably best to put this WIP in the Alien detachment.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Finally after all this time, Pam is planning on carrying my lekku imminently.
After discussions with her, I've gone for a shade of purple fractionly darker than originally planned. A little less slave twilek, more self confident twilek.
Next plan will be to start working on the pattern for the head wrap. I already have the necessary fabric to make the head wrap from, just need to work on a pattern.
Because the lekku are definitely not skin colour, I need to practice the face and body paint as well.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Good news, received my brown box with purple lekku. Something to remember for all those that precursor, as ever your costume pieces are held in the lap of the Tax gods. That was an additional lump of money, but less than I'd expected so that was a win.

I've also yet to have the time and calmness to actually try and put these suckers on... Guess I'll be trying at the weekend, when there are no small people around.

They look lovely, where are they from?
I'd pop a wig cap or ( a mates pair of tights) on your head.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Ha ha ha ha!!!! Fortunately, that wasn't me. Don't know who you could possibly be talking about
Yes ma'am, wig caps have been purchased specifically for this venture. Along with many different make up brushes (reminds me of a non - canon idea of a costume now that I'm practically blonde again) flannels and sponges...
In answer to your question, I purchased them from Twi'lek Pam, last September in the Labor Day sales. Yes it was an incredibly long wait for them, but I'm so pleased I plumped for hers. They have a beautiful wiggle to them.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Also reminds me that I need to find where I safely stashed my leather gloves for this.
