Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
The good news is, if I can't find the original gloves I purchased for this, I've found where I bought them from.
Hmm, maybe I should get another pair, just in case. Because we all know how good I am at forgetting or losing stuff....

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
The pigmented make up that I have purchased is a shade called Tanzanite. This is reasonably close to the colour of the lekku, but a fraction darker. For use in contouring etc.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
OK, so because I've already had colour issues, not remembering the exact match for the lekku. The colour is Kryolan 483.
And yes, I've just ordered a spare pair of gloves. You know, just in case.
Depending on how my skin reacts, or rather feels at the time, they do it in water or grease based versions.
Apologies for editing my posts. I'm trying to use a mixture of Tapatalk (for posting the pictures) and the standard web interface.

Note to self:
Find make up case from the loft. Taking the Twi'lek anywhere is going to involve a variety of bits and pieces not readily available at many events, if at all.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
So, just in case I can't find the gloves, another set have been purchased. I suspect the previous pair got erroneously packed up in the winter wardrobe.
However, that aside, these gloves are particularly long so that there will be no need for me to paint my hands or arms.
Not the best picture, admittedly, as I've pulled it straight from Amazon.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Updates for this will come in spits and spurts. Between juggling working from home, home learning although it's now the summer holidays, and real life rubbish, I find I need time to gather all the bits together, figure out exactly what I'm missing etc.
I got a set of ear cones coloured at the same time that the lekku were made, so I'm pretty sure all I need to actually do is make the head wrap, kit up and take photos. Then you can all have a giggle at how stupid I look...

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Gloves and make up have been purchased and arrived.
Now to tackle the task of the head wrap.
I have a pattern that I downloaded from somewhere (can't remember where, oops) so I am hoping to attempt to get at least one mock up sewn tonight to test it out.
Prepare yourselves, there will be terrifying pictures.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Alas, my sewing machine threw a hissy fit a couple of days ago and decided that it would self-dismantle on me.
So now to search YouTube and see if I can get it to work again! Grrr....

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
The good news.... Sewing machine has been reconstructed again. Basically, it didn't have any choice. I needed it for making some more masks. However this means that I have now got no excuse when I next have time to play with fabric etc, for not making the necessary head wrap.
Obviously, I'm going to be going for ear cones, because I got them, but little question to those that may know:
Now that Disney have shown female Twi'leks with no ear cones, any idea if we have to bother any more? It would just make the wrap easier to make.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
There’s is shots from the Mandalorian showing material covering where you would normally have the ear cones so you could possibly argue the point.

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Thanks Paul.
I'm not sure that I want to be that person, so argue it, at the moment. I just want to polish off a couple of costumes before I even start looking at others. (Which, it would appear is something of a hazard for me. Too many wips.)

Re: Chris's additions to Jedi
Where are the disney refs from?
I think because of the generic jedi being from the prequel era, its something i would want to check with detachment and possibly alien judges.
Also i will grab that pattern for you.......its not the most amazing, but like I said, a base.
* prize to me for number of edits lol! Can you pop those refs here please.

I found this from the Mandalorian as far as an image with no ear cones.tenebris wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 8:59 pmWhere are the disney refs from?
