Chris' Jawa WIP

Post by dragonhawkz » Wed Jun 06, 2018 9:09 pm

So, after the collapse of the Forum, I'm still playing catch up with all the various part finished costumes that I have...

This is actually a costume that has previously been cleared, having purchased from Ian and Kathy. I just need to do new boots, find a suitable sound loop and actually see if I can cope with trying to be considerably shorter than my 5'6".

I also need to get the necessary stuff for underneath. Not much then.....

Both their costumes were great so there definately won't be a huge amount of work to do.... UTINI... Another jawa for the sandbox

It'll be done by Sunday!

Which Sunday, though, is another question!

There were some jawa actors at Birmingham and they were on eye level with me. I'm 5ft 6. This made me very happy.

Right, apologies for the delay.

I realised that I still haven't got round to getting anywhere in this.

Found the critter in the wardrobe. Now to complete the boots and see if I'm not too tall for a Jawa...

Right, temporarily misplaced the bandolier.

I also need to cover a pair of boots. ImageImageImageImage

Overall its a great costume but to keep the thread up to date we've messaged and discussed trying to stretch out the fabric in cold water. Height shouldn't be an issue as there are no official restrictions on height.
If successful I would also trim the threads from the ends of the arms (a common thing anyway as even with a stitch round the edges it'll still fray like mad) and have another kit up.
Good luck x

All of the 'raw' edges are sewn with a single line of stitching to minimise unravelling.

What I could really do with is adding a couple of inches around the chest, so I'll see just how much I can stretch the robe.
