Twi'lek jedi

Post by scot-gcar709 » Thu Dec 13, 2018 6:54 pm

So whilst the last few adjustments are being made to my jedi robes I decided to push on with the twi'lek aspect of the costume so I have purchased a lovely set set of silicone lekku from twi'lek pam which arrived today.

So I have been removing some of the excess foam (with a fair amount of trepidation) to the point they are sort of sitting on my head but i think needs a bit more work.

Finally, intend on making a headband out of the dark grey material seen below.

I do have one question to others who have twi'lek costumes, is there any specific method most people use to keep them well attached to the head?

thanks

Can't answer the attachment question, Graeme, but I like the colour combination between the lekku and the headwrap! That'll go well with your Jedi, too.

Hello there,

I have a Twi’Lek Pilot and I find my lekku is quite tight but is held on by the headband so make sure it’s a tight fit.

I like the colour combination too.

Good luck

Thanks that’s helpful to know. I’m wondering if my problem is that I just haven’t taken enough foam out for them to fit on my head properly. Will have another look tonight.

Glad you both like the colour combination. I’m really looking forward to seeing it all come together now.

Did a bit of work on a headband and I think it looks ok and is doing a good job at keeping the lekku in place at least as I wander around my flat

Are there any major issues with it that people can see?

Looks good! Glad the lekku feel secure. Remember as a male Twi'lek, you can leave your ears visible - it's only female Twi'leks who have the ear cones.

What kind of body paint are you going to use for your skin?

Yeah the only problem i have with keeping the ears visible is that it would leave the sideburns visible too. I have been focused on trying to ensure as much hair is hidden as possible to make it easier to ensure that the no hair is visible when in costume.

I have got a bottle of pro aiir hybrid which should match the colour of the lekku i purchased, i am intending on doing a practice of putting it on over the christmas break so that when i get my submission pics taken the paint doesn't ruin the look.
