Thanks!

In other news, I’ve been tinkering with Chewie’s styling and tried to blend a bit more grey here and there. I think i’m happy with him now.

Quiet here at the moment, ain’t it :O

Can I enquire as to how much work i’d have to do, to get a generic wookiee out of this? I made another bandolier with a smaller bag and different pieces, i.e. small metal boxes and some leather ammo pouches. I was going to criss-cross them, Mexican bandit style. Would this be enough, or am I going to be more creative?

My two cents is that the generic wookiee is a bit of a workaround to get more chewbacca costumers out at the same time.
If a generic wookiee was truly a generic wookiee that’s a different matter entirely.

But to me the problem is more the facial features and whilst you can get away with additional accessories if your able to add some braids or similar so you don’t look exactly like chewie that would be better.
I always liked Chewbacca’s disguise as Snoova from shadows of the empire where he had a cybernetic eye patch thingy.

This is so if you’re at a troop and there is someone signed up as chewie it doesn’t look like there are two out in costume at the same time.

Obviously you don’t want to do anything permanent that you can’t remove easily.

Thanks, yeh it’s really in case myself and Paul are at the same event at some point.

I’d thought about braids. These could be attached with velcro under the mask easily enough.

Don’t really want to have to carry any accessories but thought a staff might be good, although having seen wookiees in action, hugs are more the thing people want :D

Hi, I can’t see info on the CRL regarding permitted weapons for Chewie... am I not looking in the right place?

Basically looking to see if a DLT-19 is allowed, seeing as he used one in A New Hope?

Hi Mark. I wouldn’t worry to much about Chewie. I building a generic so shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve had conversations in the past with one of the judges and from what I understand they don’t like to clear Chewie with just another style bandolier, etc as the colouring and pattern of the suit is exactly the same. From what I’ve heard the 501st are a lot more lenient on this as they generally just add armour to the build. That’s one of the reasons I started a generic from scratch. You also wouldn’t be able to clear your Chewie with a solo bandolier as a solo variant as the style is considerably different. As for the weapons you should also be able to use an E11 as he used one in the escape from cloud city.

Cool, thanks for that

Do I need to clear any weapons here or on a different thread?

Not that I’m aware off. I’ve got a couple of bowcasters but they’re optional and not required for costume clearance. Someone else with more experience may have a different view.

Hey folks, following some extra little bits of work (hair thinning, straightening, adding more grey to shoulders and legs, etc) I thought i’d better put up some pics of where i’m at, to make sure Chewie still complies with RL standards:

That looks fantastic. All the hard works pays off in the end. I did lots of 'final trims' before I was happy. Even then I still did some tweaking!
