Re: Jyn Erso wip
Cool... Thanks Vicky.
Once you've sorted out the length of the vest, don't forget to alter the length of the hanging cable.
Hmm... I'm not sure, but the jacket will length might need to be altered as well. This is simply because the jacket, is not that much longer than the vest. (Basically the difference is the depth of the elasticated waistband on the vest.)
I am completely aware that you purchased the vest, but I question the use of the patches under the arms.... My apologies, but looking at the screen shots, I would suggest that these would look more accurate if they were cut in half and cleaned up, then stitched back on.
You've done a great job improving this. Well done!

Re: Jyn Erso wip
Regarding those patches I was told to darken them for rebel command unfortunately. The cables will be altered once vest is in one piece again.

Re: Jyn Erso wip
They're a great colour, much better. It's more that at the moment the patches are twice the size that they were in the film.
They only need to be half the size.
I haven't seen any pictures from the film or publicity where they used the patches at the full size.
Really it would depend on whether you were aiming for RL clearance (where the patches are optional) or RC who may have different standards. Unfortunately I can only advise on the RL standards.

Am going for both. Nothing's been mentioned about them in rc but I can have a word and either way it's a pretty simple fix.dragonhawkz wrote:They're a great colour, much better. It's more that at the moment the patches are twice the size that they were in the film.

If you decide that you want to halve them, it's easy enough to do, just remember to seal the cut edge on the webbing with a lighter so that it doesn't unravel.

This is from my original photos, but as you can see, they're cleaned up a little bit and dyed. I have since dyed it with the dye from my gloves.

Re: Jyn Erso wip
Thanks. Just discussed it with RC this morning and they do need halving which is handy as I can use them for both then . Once vest is back in one piece again I'll sort it.dragonhawkz wrote:This is from my original photos, but as you can see, they're cleaned up a little bit and dyed. Re: Jyn Erso wip
Also as per discussion on RL forums have started adding squares to the back of my vest. Also have managed to get waistband back on. I might have to adjust front slightly but I can do that without touching elastic bit thankfully.

Re: Jyn Erso wip
Vest is done, shirt, pants, weapons etc are all weathered. So nearly there I think. I'll get scariff cleared then sort jacket.
