Yes, a stationary BB with a controllable wiggly head. Stick in on a table and people at an event would talk to it. One day, maybe.
Happiness is a warm A280. Or A300. Even a Glie-44 at a pinch.

You don't need to clear it with us as the only droids the RL clear are ones that were worn as costumes like Gonk and Threepio.
So if theres an approval process with the BB-8 Builders id suggest going via them. If not and youre happy to bring him along to events then sign-up as usual
