Scarif marine wip

Post by fraktilfilth » Tue Jun 04, 2019 8:16 pm

Another Imperial turncoat and another Scarif marine to bolster the Scottish contingency.

Gone for a Yosh Calfor version. Need to get some padding into the pouches and a bit of weathering onto them also.

Will get close up shots of individual items done this week. ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Looks a solid base already but I can't see the helmet cover clearly, the sides of the ribbed panel I'd like to see closer.
The grenade vest appears to have the right colours in the right places which is a pain to get right!
I'd think this should do fine for a generic trooper whereas Calfor has a specific hip pouch on the right if you wanted to clear as him.
Happiness is a warm A280. Or A300. Even a Glie-44 at a pinch.

Clearer shots of the helmet as requested. Will probably go for generic clearance but out of interest which pouch is it used on the right hand side? ImageImageImageImageImage

Calfor has a Danish pouch. They're often described as 1950s era HTK pouch. I've seen them labelled as Bren magazine pouches so that makes them even cooler.

The edges of the padding look a lot better in those close ups. It's a bit wrinkly and would look better a bit tighter but not a real issue.

It looks like you have some mesh there already but you could place some black foam/cloth behind the large oval aperture on the front, not covered by the helmet band. It's one of those variations you see in the different characters so if you picked one with a good reference, you'll be fine.

I think what you have should clear, from what I can see.

Have you considered making a Mefran as facially you're a good lookalike?

Yeah Mefran is a good shout. Just need to get a sten bandolier and belt buckle, already have a compad on the jacket. Am I right in thinking he has no pouches on his belt? Will look at some screencaps to check on his gaiters too.ImageImage

Nice to see a dirty trooper :)

The hood and collar look a bit different on Mefran, not sure how tight RAID are with face characters?

I doubt the velcro collar closure would be an issue as it looks like it'd be accepted with the Gorka 4 pullover smock.

It'd need more searching to get specific pics on Mefran's pouches, etc. but this is no issue with a generic application. Perhaps clear generic to start and then look into a face clearance if you fancy otherwise stick as it is.
