Snowspeeder Jacket Query

Post by Jeditid » Tue Aug 13, 2019 4:23 pm

Another one thats got no response on the main forum so

Has anyone been to Galaxy's Edge yet and seen the snowspeeder jackets they are selling ??

I've seen a couple of images (as seen here) and wondered if anyone thinks these could clear for a Snowspeeder with RL ??

Thoughts ??

Without seeing a photo of one being worn mate, would be difficult to say.

I'm curious about the answer to the query myself.

Snowspeeder Jacket Query

The jacket looks ok but doesn’t appear to be made of the correct material and the rank badge and pocket looks too small.

Looks a bit matt, not having the sheen.

Rank badge actually looks like its material stitched on - I dont even think its a pocket. Look at the way the buttons have black shading on to give a 3d effect....

Looks raised as the shadows are in a different position. It looks captive unless that's velcro on the top edge.

Shouldn't it also be closer to the arm seam, less toward the zip?

yeah the positioning is a bit off. id guess its removeable for washing of the jacket, it looks like theres some velcro stiching along the top edge

If the badge is a separate component, I'd say it's about the right size but it's the actual pocket that is too small around it, obscuring the details around the edges. And yeah I think the positioning is off, should be closer to the arm, and maybe an inch or two lower down.

Construction-wise I'd say the jacket itself looks fine, the collar is good, the box pleats look good and they correctly end a few inches away from the cuff. Length may be an issue, but without seeing it on with the full vest/belt etc, difficult to tell.

As for material, clearly it's not the same as the original, but whether this would be a sticking point for a judge is hard to tell.
