SirCalcium Ep III 501st Clone Trooper WIP

Post by SirCalcium » Sat Jan 11, 2020 4:17 pm

Hello There (the other two clones did that)

So, number 3 of 5, of the planned Scottish Clone Squad. We've been planning this for almost 2 years now, and when Imperial Surplus did that unmissable deal, we jumped on it. This will be a first for me not just for Clones but a hard armour costume in general. I also intend to duel clear with both Rebel and 501st Legions.

Here's what I have currently.

1 Movie Realistic Clone Trooper armour kit (Tall) from Imperial Surplus
Image

and the Resin back plate
Image

Bought with the kit from IS, includes
The strapping system, I may modify it later to use a velco and/or snap fasten
Image

The Foam elbow and knee Insert Kit
Image

1 silicone belt kit, shoulder, elbow and knee straps, and resin commpad, all from Sanotised Creations
Image

1 ribbed clone undersuit
Image

1 DC-15S Blaster kit
Image

and an EVO3 Phase 2 CT helmet, also made by Sanotised Creations
Image

I've been working on and off on this helmet, but I've reached the point of painting the greeblies on the cheeks and ears, and the blue stripe of the 501st, I've rough drawn in a guide line for the blue stripe, just need confirmation if it's correct before commitment.

Looking forward to getting this built

At this point I don't have the boots, tried the boots from Imperial Boots, but their highest size do not fit my large feet, so I've bought my boots from Crow Props, currently they are being made.

Future things I'd like to add later down the line, include;
A Phase 1 Helmet
A DC-15A Blaster Rifle
There is an extra "accessory I'd like to add, but there's only 1 reference of it
Image
On the Sixth Scale Figure, the CT has changable parts including both Helmets, both Blaster plus the Rotary Cannon, and a Backpack as seen on the Galactic Marines, would the backpack be an acceptable/clearable accessory?
But you must accept your regret the way you accept your mistakes. Then move on.

Calum, Im not sure that the Hot toys are deemed canon references? But if you find a second - you'd have a strong argument.

Rotaty cannon - now that is something I want to see!

Aside from doing the dark wash, I just have to put the visor in, plus all the helmet interior stuff

A potential setback, in my enthusiasm to get all the armour trimmed, I hacked off all the excess from the lower back plate, when the intruction photos on the ImpSuplus page show to keep some of it on. I have seen some builders remove all the excess, but I'd rather hear from the veterans

Hi Callum just taking a look now and I’m not exactly sure which part you’re referring to, if you’re referring to the return edge on the back part I’d need to see a side on shot of it, but I’m sure itll be either not the end of the world or fixable

Side by Side shot of my (lets see if this gets passed the censor?) Butt-Plate/Arse-Piece, that I hacked too much off

Image Image

I still have one of the excess parts whole, the other side I cut up.

Fortunaly we (the Scottish Clone Squad) are hoping to get an Armour Party soon, so if this needs fixed, I have sheets of ABS plastic, and a jar of abs chips, so if needs be I should be able to fix it.
