EVENT NAME: Witham Puppet Festival

DATE: 19th September 2020

TROOPING TIME: 10am - 4pm changing available from 9am

The Town Hall,
61 Newland Street,

The town hall will be the main base/meet up point. The actual event takes place in the town centre (Newlands Street) itself.

- Secure changing room provided.
The organisers use different bases throughout the town centre as the festival is quite spread out. The organisers will confirm exactly where everyone will be once the programme has been confirmed. In each base there are tables, chairs, a mirror and toilets. These are shared areas and performers are in and out all day and will leave as soon as they have finished their last set so the areas are usually quite quiet. The changing areas are also covered by a volunteer all day so personal items can be left, although the organisers don’t take legal responsibility for these.

- No onsite parking
Unfortunately there is no onsite parking available as the Town Hall is on the High street. There is nearby alternative parking, the nearest one probably being Mill Lane (see link for prices). ... _car_parks

- Some Light refreshments provided on the day
Sandwiches, fruit, snack etc – as well as water/tea/coffee.

- Blasters, Lightsabers, etc. are permitted.

This is an event with lots of performances in different spaces across the town, so there is scope for either static photo opportunities or walkabout characters – or a bit of both. As long as it is a local charity and we have the correct permissions from Braintree District Council, there is no issue with us collecting money, however the organisers do have a performance budget for this event so they should be able to offer a lump sum donation. The organiser informs us that there are so many people around the town at this event that we could potentially raise a lot of money from a collection bucket, but being so busy it might make the whole bucket situation a bit of a hassle! They are happy to work something out that suits everyone anyway.
